Private browsing protection, explained simply.

Install SoundPrint Guard, confirm it is protecting your browser, and solve common audio-site issues without needing to understand fingerprinting technology.

The short version

A VPN can hide your IP and private browsing can limit cookies and saved history. SoundPrint Guard covers a different layer: it gives each website its own stable audio identity so the same browser signal cannot simply be reused across unrelated websites.

Start here

1. Install and turn on protection

Choose the package for your browser, approve the requested site access, and pin SoundPrint Guard so its status is always easy to check.

  1. Install the extension. Use the package supplied for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Firefox, or Safari.
  2. Allow protection on websites. This lets the extension protect Web Audio values before a tracking script can read them.
  3. Open SoundPrint Guard. The popup should show that protection is active for the current site.
Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc

Open the browser's Extensions page, add the supplied package, and keep SoundPrint Guard enabled.

Firefox

Install the signed Firefox package, then confirm that the extension may run on websites.

Safari

Install the Safari app, then enable SoundPrint Guard under Safari Settings > Extensions.

Protection status

2. Check that protection is working

Open the extension on any page. The status summarizes whether SoundPrint Guard can protect the browser audio signals commonly used for fingerprinting.

ProtectedEverything is working normally.

No action is required.

LimitedSome protection is using a compatibility fallback.

Reload the page and check again.

Needs attentionThe current page may be blocking protection.

Follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Everyday controls

3. Choose the right protection mode

Balanced mode is the best choice for most people. A different mode can be selected globally or only for the current website.

BalancedRecommended

Strong everyday protection with broad compatibility.

MaximumPro

Stronger identity separation for users who prioritize privacy.

CompatibilityFor audio tools

Use when a browser-based studio, call, or audio editor does not behave normally.

Disabled for this siteLast resort

Temporarily stops protection only on the current website.

Troubleshooting

4. If a website's audio is not working

  1. Reload the page once and try the audio again.
  2. Open SoundPrint Guard and select Compatibility for that website.
  3. Reload the page after changing the mode.
  4. If the problem continues, temporarily disable protection for that site to confirm whether the extension is involved.
  5. Contact support with the website name, browser name and version, selected mode, and the status shown in the extension.
Your support request does not need browsing history.

A website name and the visible protection status are normally enough to begin troubleshooting.

Privacy by design

5. What stays private

Protection is created on your device.

The private information used to create site identities stays inside the browser.

Unrelated sites receive different identities.

A value observed on one website cannot simply be reused to recognize you on another.

It complements a VPN and private browsing.

Those tools protect your network route and browsing session. SoundPrint Guard protects the Web Audio signal exposed by the browser; it does not replace either one.

Normal audio is not recorded.

SoundPrint Guard changes the values exposed to fingerprinting scripts; it does not capture calls, music, or microphone content.

Browsing history is not required.

The protection does not need to upload your history or URL parameters to operate.

Fresh identities

6. Change a site's identity

Pro plans can create a fresh identity for one website without changing every other site. You can rotate it manually or choose an automatic schedule.

  • Rotate this site: changes only the current website's identity.
  • Automatic rotation: refreshes identities every 7 days, every 30 days, or when the browser restarts.
  • Reset all identities: gives every website a fresh identity. Use this only when you want a complete reset.
Free and Pro

7. Plans and license management

Both plans reduce exposure of the original Web Audio result. Pro adds a separate, stable audio identity for each website plus rotation and compatibility controls.

The Core Difference: Global Masking vs Per-Site Isolation

Free plan: one protected identity

Free changes the Web Audio result exposed by the browser and keeps that modified result consistent. Because the same protected audio identity is used across websites, it may still be reusable as one signal in a broader fingerprint.

Pro plan: separate site identities

Pro derives a different, stable Web Audio identity for each website. This reduces straightforward reuse of the same audio result between unrelated sites. It protects this fingerprinting surface; it does not prevent every tracking method.

Identity rotation

Pro users can rotate a site's audio identity from the extension or choose a 7-day, 30-day, or browser-restart schedule. Rotation changes this signal going forward; previously collected data may still exist elsewhere.

One-device license management

Each individual Pro license covers one active device or browser profile. In the Customer Portal, you can inspect the active device, release an old activation, or rotate a license key that may have been exposed.

Compatibility and local inspection

Pro includes stronger and compatibility-focused modes, per-site exceptions, and a local activity inspector. Browsing activity and audio fingerprint values are not uploaded to a cloud analytics service.

License verification and offline use

The extension verifies paid access with the SoundPrint Guard licensing service every 12 hours. A previously verified license can remain available offline for up to seven days; browsing activity is not included in license checks.
